A brief presentation

Diamond detectors are a concrete alternative to the silicon detectors.

The diamond sensors are assembled in Lecce using polycrystalline diamond films grown through the Chemical Vapor Deposition process, provided by Applied Diamond.

Two types of detectors are assembled, which differ by the nature of their electrodes:

Have a look at the first diamond target prototype with graphitic strips!

Currently, the PADME group of Lecce is producing and assembling different prototypes of the diamond target, both with metal contacts and graphitic strips.

Soon the details of each prototype will be available online.

In the meanwhile, visit the pages of the L3 Laboratory and the HEP Laboratory of Lecce, to discover more about the project!
