PADME is a fixed target experiment designed to search for a hypothetical dark photon A’ produced in positron-electron annihilations by using a 550 MeV bunched positron beam by the missing mass technique.
The PADME Lecce group proposed, designed and built the “full carbon” active diamond target to monitor bunch-by-bunch the positron beam and improve the missing mass resolution.
