Project Title: ESP32 wireless sensors network for automatic assembly and testing particle detectors
Project details:
The Physics Department of Lecce in close collaboration with the local section of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics built a state-of-the-art automated robotic system to assembly Silicon pixel detector for the ATLAS experiment at CERN in Geneva and a control and data acquisition system for quality certification.
The assembly and testing work make use of a network of sensors which monitors Temperatures, Humidities, Air Cleanness and Force Gauge. These sensors are readout by several ESP32 devices, a low-cost, low-power system on a chip (SoC) series with Wi-Fi & dual-mode Bluetooth capabilities.
The laboratory already have implemented browsers for each single devices wireless connected to our network. We would like to develop a browser client in any modern portable language (python, JAVA, …) capable to interact and collect data from all this devices in a user-friendly manner.
